PRIDE

I am doing my very first Beth Moore Bible Study "Breaking Free" and even though it is a small taste of the AMAZING bible studies that await my future with Beth Moore, I AM HOOKED! She is so blessed with bringing the truths of the bible to life and encouraging us to strengthen our faith through diving into God's word and growing our faith through his truths. I was raised in church and accepted Christ at age 9 and memorized much scripture but as my teenage years came and so did a broken family, I started to feel as though I wasn't smart enough to truly "get the bible". I have felt so bible dumb in the past and that is such a lie to think I can't truly hear what God is calls me to hear. What a lie I bought into!

An aha moment last week was when Beth Moore shared "Have you noticed that people tend to remember not what goes in their ears but what comes out of their mouths?" She is encouraging us to pray back scripture to God.

For example : Ps. 33:4
The word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does

Mark 9:24
Immediately the boy's father exclimed ,"I do believe; help me with my unbelief?"

My prayer I wrote and said is:

Dear heavenly father,
I know your word is right and true, for you are always faithful in all you do. I believe Lord help me with my unbelief.

I never have thought my prayers were such fluent prayers however, they don't have to be!

This week we are talking about Pride and Beth Moore wrote the most incredible writing on Pride, I think I am going to hang it in my house because it rings so true for each of us!

I cheat you of contentment...
because you "deserve better than this."
I cheat you of knowledge... because you already know it all.
I cheat you of healing .... because you're too full of me to forgive.
I cheat you of holiness...
becasue you refuse to admit when you're wrong.
I cheat you of vision.....
because you'd rather look in the mirror than out a window.
I cheat you of genuine friendship...
because nobody's going to know the real you.
I cheat you of love....
because real romance demands sacrifice.
I cheat you of greatness in heaven...
becuase you refuse to wash another's feet on earth.
I cheat you of God's glory...
because I convince you to seek your own.
My name is Pride. I am a cheater.
You like me because you think I'm always looking out for you.
Untrue.
I;m looking to make a fool of you.
God has so much for you, I admit, but don't worry...
If you stick with me,
You'll NEVER KNOW.

Do you have chillies? I so do and man did that so hit it! Pride can just do so much damage and is a cheater.
